Gong Integration

Extract competitive intelligence from sales call recordings with AI-powered post-call analysis.

Requirements

Plan: War Room or Command Center · Role: Admin or Owner

What It Does

The Gong integration syncs call recordings and transcripts from Gong into Rival Radar, where our AI analyzes them for competitive intelligence. For each call, you get:

  • Competitor mentions detected - which competitors came up in the call
  • Competitive moments extracted - specific moments where competitors were discussed
  • Rep effectiveness scored - each moment rated 1–5 on how well the rep handled it
  • Suggested better responses - AI-generated coaching for each moment
  • Battle card links - relevant battle cards from your library linked to each competitor
  • Overall competitive score - a 0–100 score for the call's competitive handling quality

Setup Guide

  1. 1

    Go to Settings → Integrations

    Navigate to the integrations page.

  2. 2

    Click Connect Gong

Authorize Rival Radar to access your Gong workspace via OAuth.

  3. 3

    Configure sync settings

Choose which calls to analyze - you can sync all calls or filter by team, date range, or call tags.

  4. 4

    Analysis runs automatically

When new calls are synced, Rival Radar automatically runs the competitive analysis. Results appear in your call analysis dashboard.

Understanding Competitive Moments

The AI identifies five types of competitive moments in call transcripts:

  • Objection - the prospect raises a competitive objection ("Company X is cheaper")
  • Pricing - pricing comparisons or discussions about competitor pricing
  • Feature Compare - direct feature comparisons between you and a competitor
  • Trap Question - questions designed to expose a weakness
  • Positioning - general competitive positioning statements

For each moment, you see the exact transcript excerpt, how the rep responded (if at all), an effectiveness score, and an AI-suggested better response.

Battle Card Linking

War Room+

When competitors are detected in a call, Rival Radar automatically links relevant battle cards from your analysis library. This creates a direct connection between call intelligence and your competitive playbook, so reps can quickly reference the right battle card for their next call with the same competitor.

Deduplication

Rival Radar automatically deduplicates calls using the external call ID from Gong. If a call has already been analyzed, re-syncing it won't create a duplicate. If you need to re-analyze a call (e.g., after updating your battle cards), you can trigger a re-analysis manually.

Coaching flywheel

Call analysis data feeds back into the Sales Coach. When the coach knows which objections your team encounters most often, it can proactively prepare reps for common competitive scenarios.
