Calendar Intelligence

Automatically surface battle cards before meetings and prompt for competitive intel capture after calls.

Requirements

Calendar: Google Calendar or Calendly connected · Plan: Any paid plan

Overview

Calendar Intelligence connects your meeting schedule to your competitive playbook. It solves two common problems:

  • Forgetting to prep — You get a notification before meetings with relevant battle cards and talk tracks
  • Losing intel — After calls, you're prompted to capture competitive insights while they're fresh

The feature works with Google Calendar and Calendly. When a meeting is scheduled, Rival Radar detects competitors from the attendee list, meeting title, or description, then sends you the right intel at the right time.

Pre-Call Prep

Before meetings, you receive a notification with:

  • Competitors detected — based on attendee domains, meeting title, or description
  • Battle card links — one-click access to relevant battle cards
  • Attendee list — who you're meeting with
  • Coach link — jump straight to Deal Prep mode in Sales Coach

Competitor Detection

All Plans

Rival Radar detects competitors by matching against your tracked competitors and existing battle cards. It checks:

  • Attendee email domains (e.g., someone from @competitor.com is on the call)
  • Meeting title keywords (e.g., "Acme Corp Demo" where Acme is a competitor)
  • Meeting description text

Post-Call Debrief

After meetings end, you receive a prompt to capture competitive intel:

  • Quick capture prompts — guided questions about competitors, objections, and pricing intel
  • Field Note link — jump straight to a new note or auto-created draft
  • Competitor context — reminder of which competitors were potentially discussed

Auto-Create Field Note

All Plans

Enable "Auto-create Field Note draft" to have Rival Radar create a pre-filled note template for each meeting. The draft includes:

  • Meeting title and date
  • Attendee list
  • Detected competitors (as tags)
  • Sections for Key Takeaways, Competitive Intel, and Next Steps

Configuring Settings

Go to Settings → Integrations → Calendar to configure:

  1. 1

    Pre-Call Prep Settings

    • Timing: 15 minutes, 30 minutes, 1 hour, or 1 day before
    • Delivery: Email, in-app notification, Slack, or Chrome extension
    • Filter: External meetings only, all meetings, or keyword-based
  2. 2

    Post-Call Debrief Settings

    • Timing: Immediately, 5 minutes, or 15 minutes after
    • Delivery: Email, in-app notification, or Slack
    • Auto Field Note: Automatically create a draft note
    • Filter: External meetings only, all meetings, or 15+ minute meetings
  3. 3

    Quiet Hours

Set hours when you don't want notifications (e.g., 8 PM to 8 AM). Notifications during quiet hours are suppressed, not queued.

Meeting Filters

Not every meeting needs competitive prep. Use filters to focus on the right ones:

  • External only: Only meetings with attendees from outside your email domain
  • Keywords: Only meetings whose title contains specific words (e.g., "demo", "discovery")
  • Duration: For post-call, only meetings 15+ minutes (skip quick syncs)
  • All: Every meeting on your calendar

Start with External Only

The "External meetings only" filter is a good starting point. It catches customer and prospect calls without spamming you about internal syncs.

Connecting Your Calendar

Calendar Intelligence requires a calendar connection. You can use:

  • Google Calendar: Connect via the Google tab in Integrations
  • Calendly: Connect via Settings → Integrations → Calendly (for scheduling-based workflows)

Once connected, Rival Radar syncs your upcoming events and processes them for notifications.

Privacy

Rival Radar only accesses calendar event metadata (title, time, attendees). We don't read event descriptions by default unless you enable keyword filtering. All data is processed securely and never shared.
