Answers to common questions and solutions to known issues.

Product FAQ

What is a Quick Analysis?

Quick Analyses come from the Chrome Extension - lightweight, instant competitive intel from any webpage. They're faster than full Scout analyses but less comprehensive.

  • Quick Analysis: Chrome Extension, current webpage only, ~30 seconds, shows QUICK badge in The Vault
  • Scout (Deep Analysis): Web app, full multi-source research, ~2-3 minutes, comprehensive battle cards

Upgrade any Quick Analysis to a full Deep Dive from The Vault.

Where are my saved analyses?

All analyses - both Quick Analyses and full Scout battle cards - are automatically saved to The Vault. Access from the sidebar with tabs for All Cards, Saved Cards, and Competitors.

How do I access the Deal Room?

The Deal Room is the Pipeline tab in Basecamp (home dashboard). View your pipeline, drill into deal details, and manage competitive deals.

How is Rival Radar different from Crayon or Klue?

Crayon and Klue are enterprise CI platforms that cost $20K–$100K+/year and take months to implement. Rival Radar is AI-native - you sign up, enter your company, and have battle cards in 60 seconds. Starting at $49/month, not $30,000/year.

What powers the analysis engine?

Rival Radar uses frontier AI models optimized for competitive intelligence. Scout uses our fast analysis model for quick, accurate competitive snapshots. Deep Analysis (War Room+) uses our most powerful model for comprehensive multi-source intelligence with deeper strategic insights.

How current is the competitive data?

Every analysis uses real-time web search powered by Google to gather the latest competitive information. You can refresh any analysis at any time to get updated intel. Intel Feed monitors competitor activity daily.

What data sources does Rival Radar use?

Real-time web search powered by Google, combined with your uploaded knowledge base documents, to build comprehensive competitive profiles.

Can I try it before committing?

Yes! Every new account gets a 7-day Overwatch trial with full access - no credit card required. Run up to 3 full Scout analyses with complete battle cards and see exactly what you'd get as a paying customer.

Can I cancel anytime?

Yes, you can cancel your subscription at any time. You'll retain access until the end of your billing period. After that, your account drops to the free Recon plan.

Do you offer discounts for startups?

Yes! Contact us at sales@userivalradar.com and we'll work something out.

Troubleshooting

I keep getting "Session Expired" errors

Rival Radar enforces concurrent session limits. If you've logged in from too many devices, your oldest session is automatically revoked. The limits are:

  • Recon: 2 concurrent sessions
  • Overwatch: 3 concurrent sessions
  • War Room: 3 concurrent sessions (per user)
  • Command Center: 5 concurrent sessions

Solution: Log out of unused devices, or simply log in again. You can manage active sessions in your account settings.

My analysis failed or timed out

Analyses occasionally fail due to temporary web search issues or rate limits. Try:

  • Wait a minute and try again
  • Check that the competitor name is spelled correctly
  • If the competitor is very small or obscure, there may not be enough public data to generate a full analysis

I've hit my monthly quota

Usage limits reset on the 1st of each month. If you need more analyses or coach queries before then, consider upgrading your plan. Current limits:

  • Recon: 3 Scout analyses, 5 Battleground queries
  • Overwatch: 15 analyses, 50 Battleground queries
  • War Room: 75 analyses, unlimited Battleground queries
  • Command Center: Custom limits

Slack users getting "Access Denied"

Slack commands require the user to have an active Rival Radar seat. The match is done by email address - the user's Slack email must match their Rival Radar email. Make sure they've been invited to your Rival Radar organization.

Integration won't connect

All integrations require War Room or Command Center plan, and Admin or Owner role. If you meet these requirements and still can't connect, try:

  • Disconnect and reconnect the integration
  • Check that the third-party service (Salesforce, Gong, etc.) hasn't revoked access
  • Contact support@userivalradar.com
